Overview:This individual provides direct patient care as the Center's Advance Practice Clinician according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care. Functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Medical Center credentialing committee. Follow established standards, procedures, and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff.
Responsibilities:- Demonstrates knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, presentation and epidemiology of medical conditions.
- Performs history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, complete, concise, relevant and appropriate for age, gender and clinical problem.
- Orders appropriate diagnostic studies and correctly interprets the results.
- Utilizes critical thinking to synthesize and analyze collected data.
- Develops, implements, evaluates and alters the plan of care as needed.
- Manages medical conditions based on knowledge of the indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions and adverse reactions of pharmacologic agents and other relevant treatment modalities.
- Counsels and educates patients and families.
- Demonstrates proficiency in procedural skills pertinent to practice area.
- Maintains accurate, complete, concise and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Current CPR Certification
- Credentials: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant-Certified
- Active DEA license or ability to apply.
* Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal
* Knowledge Of Basic Computer Programs
* Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members
* Able To Withstand Crisis Situations
* Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors
* Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records
"Credentials:
- Valid and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the practicing state.
- Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- DEA registration for prescribing medications (if required).
Essential:
* Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program.
- Current CPR Certification
- Active DEA license or ability to apply.
