Job Summary
The Orthopedic Spine Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care within a high-volume spine surgery practice. This role includes outpatient clinic responsibilities, inpatient rounding, perioperative management, and serving as first assist in the operating room. The APP works collaboratively with orthopedic spine surgeons and interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations for spine patients
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and laboratory studies
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care
First assist in spine surgical procedures
Conduct inpatient rounds and coordinate discharge planning
Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery plans
Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, therapy services, and care coordination teams
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
Requirements
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Board certification as an NP or PA-C
Current state licensure or eligibility
Previous orthopedic or spine experience preferred
Surgical first assist experience preferred
Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
