Description
The Advanced Practice Provider functions in collaborative practice with emergency medicine physicians in a high-volume pediatric emergency department. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and interventions according to approved protocols and scope of practice. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital admission.
Full time APPs receive CME, front-loaded PTO, competitive compensation + shift differentials (when applicable). We have two openings in the emergency department (.80 FTE and .90 FTE). 1p-1a and 7p-7a.
Education and Experience
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
- Master’s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered
- Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.
OR
Physician Assistants
- Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
- Minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
- Current Texas professional registered nurse license
- Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license
- Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
OR
Physician Assistants
- Current Texas professional physician assistant license
- Certified as a PA-C
- Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
