Description
Sentara Medical Group is seeking Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join our growing Cardiology service line, with opportunities in Electrophysiology (EP) and General Cardiology. Positions are available across Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, Suffolk (VA) and Elizabeth City (NC). APPs will work collaboratively with experienced cardiologists while practicing with meaningful autonomy in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Electrophysiology (EP) Cardiology
Role Overview
- Inpatient and outpatient EP-focused position (approx. 70% inpatient / 30% outpatient)
- Surgical and procedural emphasis with strong physician and APP support
- Coverage includes Hampton, Port Warwick, and Williamsburg practices/hospitals
EP Highlights
- Full-time schedule: four 10-hour days, Monday–Friday (7:00 AM–5:00 PM)
- Average clinic volumes: 15 patients per day
- Independent procedures: cardioversions and loop implants
- Procedural support: first assist in ablations; independent vascular access and closure
- Call: 1:5 weekends, phone-only (Sat–Sun, 7:00–11:00 AM), no in-house coverage
- Team of 9 physicians and 14 APPs
General Cardiology
Role Overview
- Balanced inpatient and outpatient cardiology position
- Inpatient rounding in collaboration with cardiology physicians
- Independent outpatient clinic management
General Cardiology Highlights
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
- Average clinic volume: 15 patients per day
- Weekend coverage: 1:5 rotation
- Rotating call, phone only
- Duties include new patient evaluations and follow-up car

Requirements
Physician Assistant, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, or Nurse Practitioner (non-acute care) actively working inpatient. New grads will be considered. Will need to obtain a VA License and DEA
