Description
Desert Institute for Spine Care seeks a highly motivated and skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our private spine surgery practice. The Physician Assistant/Surgical First Assist will provide passionate pre-operative to post-operative care, rounding assistance and on call rotation assistance.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Patient care from pre-op to post-op
- Surgical First Assist including H&Ps, orders completed, prescriptions ordered, OR patient positioning and localization, patient, and any other tasks to help minimize turnover time.
- Assist with clinic assistance, shared rounding, on call rotation, paperwork, phone calls, etc.
- During own clinic, see 3 patients per hour. If not seeing 3 patients/hour, assist with other clinics and/or patient calls and paperwork.
- Assist with patient’s paperwork in a timely manner, including FMLA.
- Patient phone calls returned timely; preferably the same day or latest next day. Document patient phone call and when necessary communicate to surgeon.
- Assist Medical Assistants, other Physician Assistants and Surgeons with clinic, phone calls, and paperwork. Check in with all parties during the day, even when in remote location if any additional calls, paperwork, duties that can complete.
- Coverage for other PAs when out.
- Report to work before start of clinic and/or surgery.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Relevant work experience in clinical and surgical orthopedics and spine surgery
- PA-C/NP
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written.
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
- Must be detailed-oriented and a team-player.
