Job Description (Role Summary)
The Mobile Wound Care Nurse Practitioner is an independent contractor responsible for delivering in-home wound care services to patients across Baltimore City and Baltimore County.
Key Duties
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Carry out wound care procedures such as: Debridement, dressing changes, and advanced wound care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation (especially for Medicare and insurance requirements).
- Communicate with referring physicians, home health agencies and other care team members.
- Manage and organize wound care supplies for visits.
- Follow billing, compliance, and documentation protocols (via Nobility RCM).
- Provide professional, patient-centered care during home visits.
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
- Active Maryland Nurse Practitioner license (in good standing)
- 1–2 years of wound care experience
- Strong skills in: wound assessment, debridement and advanced wound care techniques
- Knowledge of Medicare wound care billing and documentation
- Ability to work independently
- Good time management and flexibility
- Reliable transportation for home visits
- Active NPI number
- Malpractice insurance (must be self-provided)
Preferred Qualifications
- CWON certification or equivalent wound care certification
- Experience in mobile or home-based wound care
- Familiarity with Medicare documentation standards and LCD requirements
