FirstHealth of the Carolinas – a private, not-for-profit premier health care network serving the mid-Carolinas – is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to provide inpatient behavioral health coverage one to two weekends per month at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Position Highlights:
- Hospital-employed (W-2) PRN position.
- Join a collaborative team providing care on a 30-bed adult inpatient behavioral health unit.
- Average daily census in the mid-20s, shared among providers.
- Responsibilities include inpatient psychiatric rounding and behavioral health consultations in both the hospital and Emergency Department.
- Strong physician and advanced practice provider support in a collegial practice environment.
- Flexible weekend schedule, typically one to two weekends per month.
- Competitive PRN compensation.
- Located in the desirable Pinehurst/Southern Pines area, within an hour of Raleigh, Fayetteville, Greensboro, Lumberton, and Laurinburg, and approximately two hours from Charlotte.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current NCCPA certification required for PAs.
- PMHNP certification required for Nurse Practitioners.
- Minimum of two years of behavioral health experience strongly preferred.
- Eligible for North Carolina licensure and DEA registration.
- Current AHA ACLS certification required.
- Excellent communication, patient care, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
