Join Driscoll Children’s Hospital as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and provide specialized care to newborns and their families across South Texas. We are currently recruiting NNPs for opportunities in Corpus Christi, Edinburg, and Laredo, Texas.
Choose a primary location that works best for you. NNPs will be based at one of our three locations and may also have the opportunity to become credentialed to cover shifts at our other locations.
You don’t have to live in Corpus Christi, Edinburg, or Laredo to join our team! NNPs who live outside their assigned location may travel into town for their scheduled shifts.

Schedule: 24-hour shifts, typically beginning at 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM. Start times may be adjusted to accommodate NNPs traveling into town for their scheduled shifts.
Responsibilities:
As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, you will work closely with our neonatologists, nurses, specialists, and families to provide comprehensive care to neonatal patients.
- Manage and coordinate care for neonatal patients
- Obtain maternal and infant health histories and perform physical assessments
- Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory studies
- Diagnose and treat neonatal conditions
- Develop and manage individualized plans of care
- Prescribe and manage medications, fluids, respiratory support, nutrition, and other therapies
- Coordinate specialty consultations and referrals as appropriate
- Educate and support parents and families regarding their infant's condition and plan of care
- Collaborate with neonatologists, bedside nurses, case managers, specialists, families, and community resources to ensure continuity of care
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree preferred
- Current Texas RN / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure
- National certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) following completion of formal education accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed to practice as NNP or Student NNP in the State of Texas.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
- Strong knowledge and experience in neonatal care
NNP students are encouraged to apply if currently enrolled in a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program and eligible to function as a Student NNP in Texas.

- $2,000 per fiscal year for professional licenses, dues, books, and periodicals
- $1,750 per fiscal year for Continuing Medical Education (CME) expenses
- 32 hours of CME time in addition to standard PTO
