Job Title: Orthopaedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP / PA) – Surgical Services
Location: Exeter Hospital (Beth Israel Lahey Health) | Exeter, NH
Overview
Join our Surgical Services team at Exeter Hospital as an Orthopaedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant).
In this role, you will deliver comprehensive surgical care across the perioperative continuum—including inpatient rounding, Emergency Department consults, and OR first-assist responsibilities. You will work in close collaboration with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
- Surgical & OR: Serve as 1st and 2nd surgical assistant in the Operating Room.
- Patient Care & Rounding: Conduct inpatient rounds, manage follow-up care, perform ED consults, and write progress notes.
- Clinical Management: Perform health assessments, establish differential diagnoses, order/evaluate diagnostic studies, and manage therapeutic procedures.
- Prescribing: Prescribe and regulate medications per NH Board of Pharmacy/Nursing guidelines.
- Quality & Improvement: Review quality/efficiency metrics, lead team improvement efforts, and support specialty certification initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3 years of directly related surgical experience.
- Education: Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
- Licensure: Current New Hampshire license (or eligible).
- Certification:
o NP: National certification + RNFA program completion & required OR hours.
o PA: National certification via NCCPA.
o Current BLS certification.
- Privileges: Eligibility for medical staff appointment and clinical privileges at Exeter Hospital.
